Frequently asked questions.

EVENT DETAILS

What can I expect from Wool Shed events?

Our events typically last 3 hours, and run from 12 midday to 3 pm. Upon arrival, you will check in with our host, where you will be welcomed with a cool drink and encouraged to meander around the garden.

Once everyone has arrived, you’ll be invited to take a seat at the communal table. There is no assigned seating (unless requested), and everyone sits down together at the same time to enjoy a three to four-course lunch with optional wine pairings.

Lunch is served in a country family style that everyone shares to celebrate the fruits of the land and the labours of all involved by breaking bread with each other.

Menu and dietary requirements

Our seasonal menu du jour champions seasonality and locality. We choose to ensure the food shared with you is the best produce we can get from our gardens and local producers. We reveal the menu at the table.

Our menu is planned only days before and dictated by what is best that week… while we do our best to accommodate dietaries, we ask that you share your requirements by the Tuesday prior to the event (4 days prior) at the latest. We can not accommodate nor take responsibility for allergies and we can not guarantee or eliminate any allergens in our kitchen.

*** We will also be selling a small selection of our produce and preserves, please bring cash if you are interested.

Can I bring BYO drinks?

No, we are a licenced venue with two drink options:

  1. Purchase a full drinks package prior ($60 for 3-4 glasses) or

  2. Cash for drinks on the day

It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of a person under the age of 18 years. The Wool Shed (H D DIXON & S TOHOW) supports the Responsible Service of Alcohol.
LIQUOR LICENCE NUMBER LIQL550034249

Can I bring my child?

No. Our events are on our farm and have inherent risks, include alcohol service and are strictly for people 18 years and older. Due to the length of the event and the service, we kindly ask that guests not bring children.

All weather, what to wear?

Our lunches are all seasons rain or (summer) shine, that’s part of the adventure! In the case of adverse weather, we will contact you if it is not safe to come. We will always do our absolute best to keep you comfortable in all weather conditions, but you will likely be impacted by the weather as the events are held in an old wool shed, part of the fun! Please be sure to check the weather (and temperature) on event day and dress accordingly.

Our events take place across our farm. Please dress according to the weather and remember to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
