The Wool Shed is a reimagined shearing shed, located on a cattle and sheep farm in Burragate, on the Far South Coast (Sapphire Coast) of New South Wales, Yuin Country.

The historical property Dunblane, was first settled in approximately 1835 and run by generations of the Binnie family (from Scotland via Monaro) for over 100 years as share dairies growing, owning and building many properties and farms in Burragate, Far South Coast New South Wales. The present homestead (the only one left of many on the property) was built in the early 1900’s by David Binnie, son of the original settlers.

The Wool Shed was built in the 1960’s by then owners using repurposed materials from the property. The shearing shed has seen many barn dances and community events over the last 60+ years and makes the perfect authentic place to enjoy the beautiful vistas.

In 1980’s locals Audrey and George Hayes purchased Dunblane and Audrey an avid gardener, turned the non-existent garden into beautiful ornamental gardens, small scale orchards and deciduous park. The Hayes family planted many trees creating the most special gardens and spaces for future generations to enjoy.

In 2020 we (Sahra and Hamish Dixon) purchased Dunblane as a family home and working cattle farm, we feel incredibly lucky to be the next custodians of this magical place living and working with our young family.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Wool Shed and sharing more of the gardens, amazing produce, and history soon.
